Lawsuit filed vs Landmarks Preservation Commission

The Seaport Coalition, including SOS, filed a lawsuit on May 16 against the Landmarks Preservation Commission. The Coalition asserts that the Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) ignored its mandate May 4th when it found the Howard Hughes Corporation’s zone-busting proposal for 250 Water Street “appropriate” in the Historic District, despite being more than three times the height of any existing building in the district. The Coalition’s litigation challenges the decision to grant such a grossly out of scale and clearly inappropriate project an LPC Certification of Appropriateness.
