The National Trust for Historic Preservation Names Seaport As One of America’s 11 Most Endangered Historic Sites in 2015

Save Our Seaport welcomes the naming of South Street Seaport by the National Trust for Historic Preservation as one of America’s 11 most endangered historic sites in 2015. We are encouraged to see this made an issue on a national level. There has been an ongoing attempt by the designated developer to label the campaign to preserve the South Street Seaport as merely a “NIMBY” effort. But Save Our Seaport maintains that this is about more than just anyone’s backyard - for centuries the South Street Seaport has been America’s front door.
