South Street Seaport Historic District Extension
If the Commissioners at the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission are truly looking for a reason to protect views of the Brooklyn Bridge from areas within the South Street Seaport Historic District, please take note that the Brooklyn Bridge is highlighted in the Designation Report for the South Street Seaport Historic District Extension (1989), and is specifically mentioned in relation to the District:

“The Extension ’ s integrity with the District is reinforced by the clear and distinct boundaries formed by the Southbridge apartment complex on its west and by the Brooklyn Bridge on its north. As seen from the Brooklyn Bridge, the Extension is an indistinguishable part of the fabric of the South Street Seaport Historic District. The Extension enriches the District historically, contributes to its architectural character, and insures it geographic cohesiveness.”
